The Exhibition
Since opening in 1974, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden continuously strives to showcase late 20th century and contemporary artists. Boxed: Joseph Cornell at the Hirshhorn Museum features the assemblage works of the artist in the permanent collection. The majority of the works on view were purchased by Joseph H. Hirshhorn, a great admirer of sculpture.
