Methodologies

For this project, a combination of Dublin Core and Visual Resource Association (VRA) metadata standards were used to best describe each muppet.  This combination created the flexibility needed when cataloging an eclectic ensemble of puppets with such deep lore.  The muppets would be nothing without their various designers, builders, and performers, so there are three fields dedicated to those roles. Most of the fields use Wikidata ontology for the sake of coverage and consistency when recording this amount of people; while Jim Henson has an LC Subject Heading, many of the other people involved in the creation process of each muppet were harder to track down.
