Abstract: en The real knock-down blow was to find, hanging opposite to the great Chigi Botticelli, that poor school piece, a Nativity and Shepherds, from the Duca di Brindisi’s (Palazzo Antinori, Florence).
Provenance: en Purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the collection of the Duke of Brindisi in the Palazzo Antinori, Florence in May 1900 for about $40,000 through Richard Norton (1872–1918), art historian and archaelogist.
