Title (Dublin Core)
Ex Libris of Hermann Scheiner
Description (Dublin Core)
Bookplate for Hermann Scheiner made by an unidentified artist. It depicts a woman, possibly one of the muses, standing in the center of the image with an open book in her hands. She is wearing flowing robes or a dress and some form of headpiece, possibly a laurel crown. She also has wings extending to the right side of the image. Above her is the phrase "Ex Libris" with "Hermann Scheiner" to the left of the image and "Würzburg" to the right. Around her are various items including a painter's palette with paint and paintbrushes, a coat of arms, a violin, sheet music, and a blank space, possibly a canvas, with "No" written in the top lefthand corner of the canvas. There are trees with branches and leaves to the right and left of the image, and a blank scrolling ribbon on the bottom that extends up the left side of the image.
