This dress is covered with beads and sequins in various shades of blue, green, and yellow. Up close, it appears to be an abstract design. Seen from farther away, it becomes clear that the dress is an homage to Vincent van Gogh's paintings of irises. This phenomenon evokes the paintings of post-Impressionists like van Gogh. His loose brushwork, when seen from afar, comes together to form beautiful, representational images of life in Paris and the South of France.
