description (VRA Ontology)
-
This sound and visual art piece involved participants being given audio kits and stacks of photographs and tracing the steps of an imagined beautiful woman with black hair in Central Park; throughout the walk, they listened to stream-of-consciousness facts and observations intertwined with music like gospel and opera. Through this work, Janet Cardiff explored many concepts like beauty, loss, permanence and physicality, history and internal monologues.
