This page introduced the sample resource template, parameters, and controlled vocabulary as well as the choice of having each of them.

Sample Resource Template

In each item, I informed the object as an image because although the original item is a painting, I am documenting it in a digital way, indeed I am documenting the 'image' of that specific painting.

Parameters:

  • Title - Affiliated with the original title that I can find on the official website / direct translation of the Chinese title. (required)
  • Creator - Alternate name: Author. Alternate comment: The painter who was designated in commission to finish this painting. This means that the creator is not referring to anyone who related to making this digital archive but the artist who painted the painting. - referred to Getty ULAN (required)
  • Subject - (not required)
  • Description - (not required)
  • Publisher - Even though I haven't renamed this category, I want to refer to the original museum that collected and preserved Castiglione's paintings. Since I am documenting digital images instead of the real object, referring to museums as publishers is appropriate in this scenario. - referred to Getty TGN (not required)
  • Date Created - Alternative Name: Creation Date Description. Alternate Comment: A concise description of the date or date range associated with the creation, design, production, presentation, performance, construction, or alteration of the work or its components, presented in a syntax suitable for display.
  • Type - referred to Getty AAT (required)
  • Format - (not required)
  • Identifier - Alternate Comment: Numeric, alphanumeric, or other codes assigned to a thing, concept, person, or other entity in order to identify it and distinguish it from other similar entities. Often a sequence of integers or characters is arbitrarily devised. (not required)
  • Has Format - Alternate Comment: Photographs are used as a means for a person to establish identity; also, photographs are used to identify objects, for cataloging or insurance purposes; and the particular alphabets and numerical digits that are assigned for this artwork. (not required)
  • Source - Alternate Name: Reference Source. Alternate Comment: Sources intended primarily for consultation rather than for consecutive reading. - referred by Getty AAT (not required)
  • Language - referred by Getty AAT  (required)
  • Relation - (not required)
  • Rights - referred by Getty AAT (required)
