Golden Phase
Klimt’s golden phase was thought to begin with his Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer in 1907, but he began using gold in his paintings with Pallas Athene in 1898, and in an image here called Judith I or Judith with the Head of Holofernes in 1901.
