American Window Glass Company was organized on October 13, 1897 by James A. Chambers and others in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a consolidation of American glass manufacturers including the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company and Western Window Glass Company. Its industry was window glass and its headquarters were in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (1897–1961) and Kingsport, Tennessee (1961–1978).

In 1957, the company was acquired by the Blue Ridge Glass Corporation, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain S.A., and in 1958 was merged with the firm to form the American-Saint Gobain Corporation. In 1970, the company was acquired by Loud & Associates, Inc. In 1978, it was acquired by Safelite Industries and merged with the Fourco Glass Company to form AFG Industries, Inc.

Description
From 1964 to 2000, Evans made daily collages in a bound notebook. These collages often include ephemera picked up in the street near his Lower East Side apartment. In this collage, evans has composed an psychedelic gold white and black pattern around a label featuring the logo of ASG (American Saint Gobain), a US based glass manufacturer established in 1959. The label reads “ASG Creative Ideas in Glass, LUSTRAGLASS, Single Strength, B, Made in U.S.A.”
