Scope & Context
My personal experience with this topic mostly spans recent years, with my involvement with the New York and San Francisco craft communities. Because of this, I have chosen to deticate most of the space in this collection to objects and images dated after 2016.
However, it is important to have historical context for these pieces and the movements surrounding them, so I have chosen some key historic items in the same genre, as responses to movements of their time, be they patriotic, protest, or awareness.
