Although Staffordshire pottery may have waned in popularity since the Victorian era, it continues to have an impact in the worlds of art and fashion. Today, images of Staffordshire dogs can be found on home goods, wall art, phone cases, and more. Some of the cultural reverberations of Staffordshire dogs have been truly remarkable. In 1994, the artist George Wyllie created a public work wherein 5m tall Staffordshire dogs were placed around Glasgow, shown below. For Gucci's 2017 Resort collection, their creative director Alessandro Michele took inspiration from Victorian decorative arts. The Staffordshire spaniel was the collection's mascot, as seen on the girls' sweatshirt below.
